Just in case ...

WHAT'S IN THE CASE? This is from the series "Essential tools for typewriter hunters, both male and female". And here it is: a field quiz as preliminary to a Field Guide to Typewriter Cases and Hoods. Train your typewriter hunter's eye to identify a typewriter even before you show interest or start haggling with the seller. Surprise your friends and family with your typewriter case identification skills! You can get the correct answer by clicking on the respective photo. Good luck!

  4. Princess ☑, Hermes 3000 ☑, ?, ?, ?, Hermes Baby (☑), Hermes 3003 (plastic) ☑, Olivetti ?, ?, ?, Olympia? ☒.
Without hints. Let's say 4, counting the Ala, which is the same case as a Baby.
With hints, I also got the Rover 2000 and the Lettera 22.

  5. Only 2. Hermes 3000 pre 66+ and the Olivetti Lettera 22. I am not familiar with the European typewriters. Good post though. Makes one think and that is good.

  7. I guessed eight or so. But then again I am quite familiar with Georg's collection :) The hint was very useful for the Rover 2000.

I stumbled on the Oliver, the Ala (although I thought it was an early Hermes Baby, so close enough), and for the Japy P6 I definitely had no idea. This was fun!
