Ready, willing & able

"Ready, Willing and Able" (Ray Enright, USA, 1937). Ruby Keeler, Lee Dixon and a lot of anonymous "legbars" typing away.

And here is a reprise in the 1970 movie "Bombay Talkie" (James Ivory), featuring the "menaka" typewriter:

  1. I haven't seen this Ruby Keeler film before. Thanks for sharing!

  2. It's new to me too. Wonderful and weird! I want a typewriter shaped like that. (And I see that the more famous "Typewriter, Tip Tip Tip" routine from "Bombay Talkie" was basically a ripoff of this one.)

  3. Love this video, thanks!

By the way, I never got the chance to thank you for your "Typosphering on a Sunny Day" vid; it inspired me to acquire a Hermes Baby.

  4. Thank you I dream lo-tech. And thanks Richard and notagain, I on my turn didn't have "typewriter tip tip tip" present and added it now.

  5. I already knew the "Bombay Talkie" Version and didn't really like it, but the Ray Enright movie is much better. The typelegs are just great. Thanks for sharing.
